Being a good mom is not easy, but there are ways to be a good enough mom. There are a lot of challenges that motherhood brings with it, such as raising kids and working the whole nine hours. These are not only responsibilities to the children, but also to the mother. In this article, we will list to you 10 ways to how to be a good enough mother and ward away from the idealized image of a perfect mother

The tips in this article may come out handy when you follow them daily. Try to be committed to yourself and do not give up easily. Stay focused on what you need to do to be a good mother. Stay healthy and happy for the better of yourself and for your entire family as well.

1) Make some time for yourself.

First, learn to take some time for yourself. This does not mean that you should never take time out to be with your kids. You simply have to make sure that your priorities are set straight, even when it comes to work. When you are with your kids, make sure to provide them with the attention and the care they need.

2) Be aware of you are giving to your children

You must be careful when giving your child his or her toys. Toys are good, but they can be dangerous if you are not careful. Make sure that there are no small parts that can be swallowed, and make sure that there are no wires hanging out of the toys. Also, you can give your child some challenging toys that trigger their brains and intelligence, this way you make sure that your child is developing cognitive skills at the early stages of their lives.

3) Do not neglect your needs

You may be still at work, but do not neglect your own needs. This is the best way to make sure that you can take care of yourself while raising your kids. Do not forget to eat properly, to take your medication on time, and to exercise regularly. When you eat poorly, your metabolism slows down, which can affect your weight and the way you look at live and at your children.

4) Spend time with your family

Make sure to spend time with your family. It is important to keep in touch with your family no matter what. Be sure to join their parties and activities. Be a good sport for them; join their church and their local community. Also, this is a good chance for you to include your children in these activities so that they would grow with a love to socialize with their communities

5) Surround yourself with positive people

This does not mean that you have to be selective of the people you want together with. Make sure to surround yourself with people who love you, who appreciate you, and who will support you in whatever you do. Be sure to socialize with other moms and be an example for them and try to engage your children in the social gathering that you think is fit for them, while you can include your children in family and friend’s get together, you surely want to spend some time in a women-only meeting or part where you children shall not be included.

6) Set your priorities

You can also be a good mom by putting your priorities in order. Sit down and list your wants and needs for the coming year and figure out what will make your life the most comfortable. Work your priorities into your plan by listing out all of your wants and needs, along with the budget you have to work with each month to make it happen. And make sure to include your children in your plans when you think it is most needed.

7) Maintain a good health

Make sure you have good health. Be sure to get a good night’s sleep and eat a balanced diet. Also, try to get plenty of vitamins and minerals, and make sure you are getting enough folic acid. Additionally, be sure to make sure you are getting enough sleep. A few extra hours of sleep each night can really help you be a good enough mom. However, make sure too that your children are getting good nutrition too and their lifestyle is healthy as well.

8) Regular Checkups

You may want to start by checking with your doctor on a regular basis. Your doctor can help you keep a proper weight and monitor any medical conditions that you might have. Make sure to take care of any health issues as soon as they crop up. Not only this, but it is also imperative that you check your children’s health too and make sure they are getting the regular medical checkup in order to keep them shielded from most diseases.

9) Make time for your children

Raising children also means that you have less free time. Children grow up so fast that you will have to adjust your schedule so you have time for your work, your family, and your kids. Many women choose careers that give them more time with their children. If you find that your job takes so much of your time that you don’t have enough left over for family fun, you may want to reevaluate your career options.

10) Guide your children

As your children grow, they will need someone who guides them and help them make the right decision. Some children may grow and become adults and not know how to act, handle situations and what options they should make especially when it comes to life choices and future options. You can come out and play your role in guiding them and showing them the right way especially because you may have been there before and you know what option is the best to choose. However, this does not mean that you will have to be an influencer. Always make sure to let your children have their own personal space to make the choices they feel comfortable with
